Diet Pepsi
Is there any reason I shouldn't drink Diet Pepsi on a contest cut? I can't think of any, but with contest dieting being still fairly new to me--dieting in itself not though--I figure I should ask. I find my clients who I run diets for seem to do well having Diet cola's in their ranks (makes them feel more "normal" I suppose) but obviously contest dieting is different.

excessive amounts may lead to extra sodium intake and the stuff dehydrates you which is counterproductive to anyone trying to make gains, but in general it can and is used successfully by many people all the way through a cut even.

In moderation it's probably okay. Just that nasty little aspartame issue. If you don't have an issue with that, then just watch the caffeine and increase your water intake.

Someone offered me a free can of some new type of diet pepsi. 0 calories and no sugar so of course there was an artificial sweetner warning.. some long word begining with phen... so I avoided it. The flavor was strawberries and cream or something though it looked pretty interesting since I never drink any kind of soda

1. Artificial Sweetner Aspartame - there is some speculation that artificial sweeteners may cause an unnecessary insulin spike. 2. Artificial Sweetners can make you crave sugar 3. Gas/bloating Now that being said, if you have a problem with Aspartame in general and still want to drink some soda, try Diet Hansens or Diet Rite - It's made with splenda. |

Thanks Jodi and Iain for the tips! I'm a big Splenda fan, so I'll give some of those shots a go. I know most of the enery drinks (such as Wired) are made with Sucralose, but I'm taking ThermalRage and Clen, so I'm trying to keep the stimulants from any higher doses than I'm already getting
The bloating I think is what makes me feel full, which is why I'm drinking this stuff in the first place! LOL. I HATE being hungry. Reminds me of when I was younger and we didn't have enough money for food; I just get all depressed feeling like that so the dieting is real hard for me. |

I've posted this many time but I will post it again.
A great alternative to crystal light and diet soda and it's made with Stevia. No artificial sweetners and no artificial colors. http://www.emperorsherbologist.com/c-splash.php |

If you wanna drink soda drink regular, diet soda is worse cuz they use a chemical worse than sugar to make it sweet. That's been posted almost a month back. |

I will let you all argue this one out. However, I agree with Iain.
Now another alternative is a soda called ZCola. it is made with Stevia. If I could just find that somewhere http://www.z-cola.com/ |

Aspartame. Pardon me.
Think this, everyone knows that sugar is bad. Why? Because it's highly processed. Things like Aspartame are even more processed and put in drinks to have that "zero carolie" maketing. Which is worse? |

If you are following a fairly healthy lifestyle, then colas (even diet colas) are a once in a while thing. Aspartame once in a while won't hurt anything unless you have PKU. Bleached white refined sugar in soft drinks doesn't help anything (other than massively flooding your insulin) and takes away from quality carbs you could have had with that cola... like sweet potato, rice, veggies, etc...
I think that's the point. |
