Depends on whether your on a cut or not. Pine has a lot of sugar in it. It's also rated as medium on the GI chart at around 60. If your bulking go for it as all fruits are good for you. If on a cut, switch to blueberries or cherries which are real low on the GI.

Is there a good online resource as to what fruits have higher/lower GI ?

Generally I use nutritiondata.com for my info but they don't seem to offer anything on GI

    Here you go.

Additionally, I disagree re: pineapple being bad on a cut. It may not work with some folks' diets and may work with others. Try and see for yourself if it fits in with your goals or not.

Pineapples are a tough one. I agree with GG when she said try and it see if it works for you or not.

Pro's: Vitimans, nutritients and Bromelain (proteolytic enzymes good for digesting proteins)
Con's: High Sugar content - not so much fructose but actual sucrose.

Eat fresh if you are going to eat pinapple. The canned versions are loaded with sugar even moreso.

Who's the aurthor of that book "eat sugar while cutting" cause I haven't found one yet that listed pineapple when dieting. ....Now when you said if it works then use it, I agree. Some people can drop weight on candy bars. But for most that lift and I'd say (This pertains to men) when they are cutting, they are trying to drop B/f and keep or add as much LBM as possible and that's not going to happen if your fruits are high on the GI chart, with the exception to PWO. And who is the author of the study that proves a little bit of pineapple will keep you from dropping bodyfat?

If you are eating five whole pineapples a day, yeah - that's not going to happen. Hell, even an overdose of LOW-GI fruit will keep you from your goals.

But if you eat 1-2 SERVINGS of pineapple a week (call it a "cheat" meal or whatever, if it makes you feel better psychologically), and it fits into your calories/macros for your diet, for that week, it is almost certainly not going to be detrimental to your goals.

Like I said, different foods work differently for everyone -- so it's upsetting when people who are starting out, are made to fear eating a little fruit. I encountered it last year when I was cutting. Everyone was warning me, "Don't eat bananas!" (not that i would - i hate them). But a reasonable serving of banana or pineapple or any other higher sugar fruit is not likely going to kill a week's worth of dieting. And if it keeps you from going insane and bingeing on something sweet because your diet is otherwise so damn strict, then hey, you know what? Hell yeah, go a little wild - have a few ounces of pineapple on friday night.

Ok we are on the same page here. I thought you were giving the ok to have pineapple everyday during a cut which I would disagree. Sure a little here or there is not going to hurt anyone especially for a cheat meal. but then again for a cheat meal, I can think of better things like Pizza or a Taco...

Sure and it will probably come back as soon as I stop using it. So maybe this would better a better use of it...I love licorice. If I was to put a dab in my mouth, I wonder if I would look like a little old man with his teeth out. If so i'll tell everyone I'm 90 yrs old and my personal trainer S.C Trouble has me in shape looking like a 50 yr old. LOL

Trouble you have a way of bringing out the best in me...

LMAO! If you put some of that fat loss extract in your mouth, I'm sure it would become further puckered...yeah, you'd look about 90. If you would make certain lifestyle changes, theres a chance you could reverse a bit of acclerated aging and start to look and feel a good bit younger.

You haven't quite yet hired me as your trainer, PT. You're thinking about it, though...
