    ARGH parents!

After all the trouble I have had getting six meals a day down me, my Mum sat me down and talked to me over the weekend and said that she's worried I am going to be obese if I keep eating six meals a day. I have told her until I am blue in the face that i'm only halving my usual meals and gave her some info that I had found online but she wont have it.

Do you guys have any information you could attach or links that will help my case?

Keep being consistent with educating your parents about nutrition. It is amazing how ignorant the world is about eating habits. Does she have a reason to think you will be obese?

and to go along with Foreman, pay for your own bills or move to your own place... that way you can live under your own rules.

She just thinks more food = more weigh. The prices for rental would mean I didnt have money to train or eat, or I would have moved out a year or so ago

so if you ate three meals with a shitload of Cals she would be fine with that. compared to 6 meals with decent cals and macro breakdown?

Again. Keep trying to educate her.

yeah my mom doesnt believe i get enough variety in my diet. to her, variety = different flavors of cereal, hamburger helper, pizza, sloppy joes, chips, bagels...

if I'm ever sick or not feeling well she blames it on my diet.
    I just ignore her.

Sorry to hear of your trevails, Leg_Press; I think Mum is a bit stressed still over the bad business with your Dad. Do you help pay for your food? She might be looking at it from a cost standpoint (it IS more expensive than conventional diets), but more likely, its her way of trying to be the good parent.

Make sure she understands that you are investing in your health, through careful dieting, training, and sleep. You might talk to her about trying your angle - improving her own diet and adding regular exercise to help her cope with the increased stress load she faces. The improvement in self esteem and confidence alone is worth the initial struggle to adopt new lifestyle habits.

Get her involved in healthy exercise and eating, and you may find you and your Mum being much more tolerant and supportive of one another.

So different for a cuban girl who is dieting - when i was cutting last year my parents, who were notorious for overfeeding their kids all sorts of processed crap and fried cuban food, would say, "you look like you have AIDS! My god! Please eat something! Here, have some more..."

Funny thing was that I was eating tons of food, but all of it healthy, lots of it various shades of green, and none of it fried or covered in sugar. I was at like 14% bf, about 102 pounds, and looked AWESOME. Only my parents thought there was something wrong with that. It was as frustrating to me as your situation seems to be for you because they just didn't understand.

Just keep doing what you're doing, let your results speak for themselves as they start to show. She will get it eventually.

On a more personal note: that sucks about your dad. Shows how unpredictable life really is. I hope your mom is doing ok. It must have been really rough for her.
