    Sunflower Seeds

    I have been eating a little more of these than I should. But I assume they are kinda in the same class as like almonds, or mixed nuts? Little help here.

    Not in the same class as almonds.

    You can work them into your diet. But they are a high source of fat, compared to protein and carbs. It is a decent source of n6 fatty acids.

    Yes, they are healthy but be sure to track how much you eat because they are high in fat.

    Even better than sunflower seeds - sunflower seed butter. SUNBUTTER. it's a little jar of heaven. but yes: approach with caution - high fat content (good fats, or not, fat is fat is calories and should be respected)

    Sunflower seeds pack a lot of nutrition into their tiny forms. They are good sources of oils, carbohydrates, protein, and more. Since they contain natural oils, their calorie and fat content can be high. Here is a quick breakdown of the nutrition facts for one cup of raw, unshelled sunflower seeds:

    * Calories - 270
    * Saturated Fat - 2 grams
    * Unsaturated Fats - 19 grams
    * Carbohydrates - 9.2 grams
    * Fiber - 4 grams
    * Protein - 9.6 grams

    Sunflower Seeds contain vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant .It plays an important role in the body. The vitamin E helps to reduction of symptoms in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and osteoarthritis, in reducing severity of hot flashes and in reducing risk of colon cancer.
