    Which One?

    Hello everyone,

I am new here and new to supplements. I am wanting to get rid of some excess fat and I know the correct way to go about it would be to change my diet and workout of course but what I'm wanting to know regarding this process is, using a fat burner in the process if that's what CLA, Lipo 6 and Hydroxycut are referred to as. Do these actually work ? and if so, would like to hear some recommendations as to which one I should invest my money in. Thanks for reading.

You should find this link useful

    http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/we...fat-burner.htm

In short, perhaps it can assist you somewhat, but don't believe all the hype! It will not make or break your success.

And this recent news regarding ephedra: http://www.diet-blog.com/archives/20...lly_banned.php

Post up your diet. That is the key to success in weightloss.

In my opinion (and I know a lot of other people will agree), you should try to get your eating and exercise in order before you turn to any supplements for additional help. The name says it all - they are supplemental. In other words, without all the other pieces in place first (proper diet, exercise and rest) no fat burner is going to give you what you want. Some (not all - because there is a lot of CRAP out there) are effective if used in synergy with a healthy diet and sound exercise plan.

Relying on them and ignoring the things that will bring you long-term weight loss and weight management success may only result in one or all of the following: an empty wallet, unachieved goals and health complications.

That being said, the only supplements I would suggest anyone starting out should look into might be protein powder for post-workout nutrition and for times when you would otherwise skip a meal or go for something out of a vending machine at work or something like that, and fish oil capsules (unless you're taking some kind of medication for which fish oil capsules or additional omega-3 fats are contraindicated -- ask your doctor).

A multivitamin/multimineral doesn't hurt either, but I wouldn't rely on that as my one source for my nutrients. i'd still suggest you eat balanced meals with lots of colors (fruits/veggies) and get your nutrients naturally wheneve/wherever possible.

Fat burners, carb blockers... those types of things... save your money and do it the right way.

Thanks to all that replied so far. I don't think I'll be using any of the stuff. I just noticed after doing some more researching, they seem to all have a rather long warning label on them and I don't feel confortable with that.
