Oat bran is the outer casing of the oat and is high in soluble fiber. They cook quickly (5-7 minutes) and are easily and quickly digested. Oat bran helps lower blood cholesterol levels because of their fiber content.
Or I just use Oats... But I prefer Oat bran

Old fashioned oats, a tablespoon of flax oil, sometimes an oz or two of banana. I switch between flavors of protein powders (choc/vanilla so far, going to try strawberry next, GNC brand). Today, post-cardio, I used no banana and instead threw in a scoop of blue raspberry Xyience NOX-CG3 and it tasted great with the vanilla & oats. Usually afterwards I will chew up a vitamin C tab and I've considered just throwing that in the blender for the hell of it. Orange flavored of course... Anyway.....

Have yet to try oat bran but I've heard it recommended so many times here that it is only a matter of time. I just have not been sure which type exactly to purchase and where... there seems to be quite a few variations of "bran" and I really don't want the wrong type for my goals. Procrastination on the research on my part there!

Milk will thicken it up a bit but opposed to a lot of people here I don't find it to be worth the calories. However, I'm not bulking so that is probably the difference there.

Yogurt will do the same thing as milk, but I've had problems finding the right type of yogurt the same way I have with bran. There seems to be no popular widely used type/brand amongst athletes.

I have a bucket of chocolate, and getting tired of if already. Tried using milk, but too thick for me. Besides oat bran, another other good combos with choc?

Hmm. You should read all the stickies (threads stuck at top) in the diet & nutrition forum! Basically it's a teaspoon of fat

Flax Oil is an EFA. EFA's are critical. Here is a starting point for your research http://goodfats.pamrotella.com/

There are better links and many sources of different types of EFAs so you have much to learn and apply

    enjoy
