Too much bread?
Hey all,
Whats everyones opinion on break intake? I know its quite trivial but i've heard a few people mention that its not a good idea to eat too much. On average I have around 5/6 slices a day, its always brown bread which is obviously better than white, but am I maybe having too much? Thanks. |

Brown bread is just as crappy as white bread.
If you are going to eat bread try some whole grain sprouted bread. As for is it bad, it is overprocessed garbage. Depending on your goals and metabolism should dictate how much you eat.
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Ok, ive been going up and down in weight over the past year depending what id been training for, so for the past six months or even longer ive been really strict with what i eat.Everyday i use to eat toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and if i was peckish in the evenings i would have always have some sort of sandwich.I have not a single slice of bread in the last six months and also cut out crisps(bad i know) but with the bread thing i can honestly say its been the best thing that ive cut out, weight wise im a lot lighter and i think that when eating all that bread i use to look and feel bloated...

Thanks for the replies, Im in a very similar position as to what you were in Macca. For me, breads just very convenient, i usually have a slice of toast, tuna sandwiches for lunch and then usually egg on toast at some point, so thats 6 slices already. My goals are just to bulk up at the moment so im not really concerned about excess calories, just the fact that bread isnt a particuarly wholesome food in large quantaties.

I think people bastardize bread a little too much. A couple slices a day isn't going to kill ya, though there are better sources of carbs out there.

I love bread and think it is a good source of carbs. Just make sure you get real whole grain bread, I get mine at whole foods so it has 0 additives also.
