Eating food
Please can anyone give me feed back on how you should actually eat your food. The question im asking is, ever since ive been a child my parents would always tell me to slow down and chew your food properly, now at 38 its my girlfriend, paul do you have to eat so quickly, she gets stressed when eating out because i get my food and eat it quickly and shes sitting there with half of her food left.Ive always done it i cant help it, i see others out eat a little, chat, eat then chat, what is this actually doing to me if im not chewing properly, i never get any gut trouble indegestion etc,
many thanks in advance,,

goob, its not that im a pig or just shovel it down, i was just wondering what the differance, if any, it makes to your digestive system, is it harming me in any way and will it make any differance to my weight gains or losses...

I've read some little debates (can't seem to find the thread links but I know they are on this board somewhere..) on whether or not eating your food slower has positive effects on your metabolism but it seems to never be settled and I have yet to see conclusive evidence in either direction.
I would imagine the difference can't be that great if it does exist so just eat your food however you enjoy it and try not upset your girl, heh. "Knowing is not enough we must apply." --- "Willing is not enough we must do."

Thorough mastication of food is important IMO because this is where the physical and chemical breakdown begins. By eating more slowly, you will feel fuller more quickly. Now with that said, I don't see why you can't chew thoroughly AND quickly heh. That's what I do. I don't play around at the dinner table. Unless the food is shitty.

I don't have a source, but if you eat quickly you are more then likely to over eat. It takes time for the brain to recognize satiety.
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

I find it I eat too fast I get bloated and if I eat too slow I cant finish the whole meal. I can never seem to eat all the carbs I put with a meal, and it really annoys me.
