    Cutting specifics

I think my question would be best explained in an example, so here goes:
Say, for the sake of simplicity, that your maintenence intake is 2000 cal/day. Therefore, you would eat 1500 in a cutting phase. However, you also burn 300 cal in cardo every day. Are you supposed to
    a) Eat 1500, plus the 300 that you burned in exercise, or
    b) Forget about calories burned and just eat your daily 1500

Trial and error, whatever gives you an average of say 1-1.5lb weightloss / week.

What Gordo said is true, there is no substitute for trial and error. You need to learn to guage your own strength and energy levels an monitor your progress and adjust accordingly. Adjust, that is, according to your goals. If you are watching what you eat and are training properly and are making at least a half-hearted attempt to monitor your calories you are probably on your way to a better level of health and a better physique.

yeah you should eat maintanance - 500 + the 300 that yo burn .. that will give you an average loss 3500 cals per week wich is nearly 1 lb .....if you want for example to increase your defict then maintanance-500-300that you burned ...2000-800 ..... then you are eating 800 calorie under your maintanance .....finally you must keep track of your progress..your maintanance may increase and your metabolism speed up ..or vice versa due to dieting your maintanance may decrease and your metabolism slows down.... so you must try untill you set up the equation that fits your goals..
