I would think at 180 lbs. you wouldnt need 300 grams of protein. I dont really see where fats would hurt you to much just as long as they are good fats. That is if you are on a bulk.
how much fat is ok to eat aday? i mean healthy fats...my weight is 180-185 and i was just wondering because i want to upp my cals and right now i get around 80g. of fats. and i wanted to maybe up it to have more cals. my carbs are up and if i up my protein i'd be in the 300's and if i up my carbs i'd be close to 400's. fat isnt bad it is? i read in some ppls journal they eat around 120-130g of fats.

i was going to say the same thing .... 300 grams of protein wll make you fat..200 is enough

and no more than 1-2 shakes per day ..stop stuffing your self with supplements..

200-250 maximum
Well the protein wont make ya fat, but all the calories that come with it will. That is if you are not burning the amount of calories you consumed you will. And I am thinking to get 300 grams of protein its going to take a ton of calories to do so.
Body does not store proteins as fat. If so everything I have ever seen is a lie.
Yes I know this, but I am not saying protein itself is stored as fat, I am saying that the cals that come with the protein maybe stored as fat, but not the protein itself. Getting it? If you take in 300 grams one day and manage to keep it under your caloric maintence you wont gain fat. However if you go over the number of calories your body can take in a day to maintain bodyweight and take in 300 grams of fat you will get fat.
So again I am saying the protein itself doesnt make you fat, its the excess calories.

protein is broken to amino acids then after satisfying your needs the rest is stored as fats .....but if you are already on a calorie deficit then it'll be burned instead of being stored but with less efficiency .. if you are bulking and you eat more protein than you need then the rest will be stored as fats...

What happens to the protein:
It is broken down into building blocks known as peptides.
Then, it is further broken down and it becomes amino acids.
The amino acids are absorbed through the small intestine's lining and enter the blood stream.
From here, some of the amino acids build the body's protein stores.
Excess amino acids are converted to fats and sugars and follow the paths described above.
This is such a simple concept, but many people still believe that consuming lots and lots of protein will put muscle on their bones. Don't be fooled by this notion! Even excess protein turns to fat.
Here is a picturesque illustration of the real cause of weight gain. Eating too much food! Dietary fat is obviously the substance most often stored as fat in the ends, but no matter what you eat, your body takes whatever it can't use and sends it to fat cells. If you don't burn it off or expel it, it hangs around in your fat cells, no matter what it consists of.
Well thanks for the input. Also thanks a whole hell of alot for making me not want to eat pizza again, you basturd!![]()

Damn you know even over the years whenever I cut I still take in an enormous amount of lean proteins and I always seemed to shed the fat. I wonder why that is? I still took like 200+ then. all in all I believe that as long as you got everything in place and all you look at is your overall calorie consumption you ought to be fine. I am however glad to find this out. I appreciate the info.
See I never gain weight unless I overeat and have excess calories. I however still think that if your maintnence level of calories is 2800 and you are below that or right at it and you take in a tremendous amount of protein, you would be ok and it wouldnt turn to fat. However I am so old school its not funny, so just ignore me.

The body utilizes what it needs... the rest is converted to food stores, or excremented.
Does anybody need to start shooting run-on sentences and fragmented diet conceptions?
