    natty peanutbutter vs skippy

I know natty is better but is it a big difference? I always eat skippy.

PS- natty stands for natural, right?

Natural doesnt have all the chemicals in if I remember rightly, just has peanuts, and salt etc where as skippy, sunpat etc has chemicals to make it last longer.

I'm sure the "Nats" will trash me - but I just bought a quart of Skippy Creamy at about $6 for adding to my protein shakes. I'm not going to pay $36 for the same volume of natty butter!

I'm a grocer for a highend retailer. The buzzphrase of the day is "All Natural". All natural Rice Crispies, Potting Soil - H2O.

    Give me a break.

Hydrogenated oils (transfats) and sugar are the reasons why.

    But you don't need transfat.

You seem to be talking about the difference between regular stuff and organic stuff. There isnt that huge a diff between Regular PB and Natty PB.

Yes, there is. You have to stir the oil at the top of the natty stuff into the sediments at the bottom of the jar.

    I can't do that after a workout.

I wasnt clear. I was referring to the price difference you mentioned.

The oil seperates as there isnt other 'additives' in it. All i do is let the jar stand on its head for a few days then mix the stuff once as it has to be refridgerated after opening. Once refridgerated it stays solid.

Thats because if it's less than 1G per serving - as in 0.9 then they can claim it as a 0.

Speaking of SKippy. The Natty Skippy is "no need to stir." The extra ingrediant in it is palm oil. Does anyone know if this is bad?

The way the oils and fat just float the the top and how thick it is isn't the best tasting thing in the world.

Skippy is good stuff. Not good for you, but taste good.

Thanks. It was more for curiosity sake than anything else. I was using it, and now use smuckers natural, I think.

I like the taste WAY better anyway. It's quite addictive.
