I depends on what kind of workout I doing
I was wondering if anyone, other than myself, ate before and after they worked out. I've heard arguments for eating before, and arguments for eating after a workout. I guess I'm trying to cover all bases.

i don't dare eat before or after a workout. it just makes me weak and bloated.

No, it's a serious question. I've heard some people say it's better to eat about a half hour before they workout. I've heard some people say it's better to eat after a workout. But I've never heard anyone say that they do both. However, in looking at the responses to this thread, it looks like quite a few people do both.
So here is my next question for those of you who eat pre and post workout. Are you eating whole food (meals), or are you eating/drinking meal replacements (bars, shakes, etc.)? Or are you doing a combination like a meal before and a shake afterwards or vise versa?

After only for me,protein shake 15min after work out then good meal 1 hour later,right or wrong it seems to be working for me!

Small whey based shake 30 min before; whey/yogurt/oat/skim milk shake post. Followed by a solid food meal about an hour later.

yes i eat 6meals aday. 2-3 before and 3-4 after
I eat oats, whey, fruit before and after (for PWO).

aha so you are asking about eating just before the workout , i guess it depends on what you eat if it's a shake then no problem if you drink it 30 min before your workout but if it's a solid meal with efas and real protein in it then wait at least 60-90 minutes , and again it depends on you maybe you have a stronger digestive system than me..

umm i haven't read what you have written well sorry , now i read it ,ok look if you are going to train with weights then you must never stay without eating more than 3-4 hours , and you must have a solid meal before your workout and also a preworkout easily digested meal or a shake also you must eat a carb+protein shake/meal just after you workout and then after 1-2 hours you have a full solid meal .......that if you want to add muscle mass and make your workouts worth it....
