How do I explain exactly what Protein Synthesis is? I think Im on the right track - but its the synthesis word that is making me question myself. I have a way of being a perfectionist not only in work but with my knowledge and I want to make sure Ive got the correct terminology and education coming out of my moth when I speakI feel really dumb having to ask this - but...Thanks guys!

And if that doesnt get you on the right track:

Have a look at those two links![]()
[Amino Acid + Amino Acid]n1-10^6 = protein.

Picture a bunch of amino acids that are all different from each other that link to each other on a chain of sorts, like a code. Basically you have all these free floating Amino Acids and your body takes them with a component of RNA and makes the chains of protein which is called "protein synthesis"
Obviously there are a lot more steps to it and that doesn't explain everything, but that's it in a nutshell. I watched a little cartoon on it in college with little colored shapes floating around labelled amino acids and mRNA and tRNA etc... it was funny but it explained it really well.
This of course is different than getting protein in your diet. This is the stuff your body produces for itself.
