depends on when i'm drinking said protein.

after a workout water, whey, banana

during the day when i don't have time for a meal water (sometimes whole milk), whey, apple, walnuts/natty peanut butter. i'm used to eating clean and i usually just mix whey+water/milk then eat the apple/walnuts.

I put it on my cereal in the morning with blue berries and cottage cheese. Tastes awesome.

After workout, soymilk + whey + chug.

This is not a good idea to put a banana in ur shake post workout. This slows down the time for the whey to get to ur muscles. If u just drink the whey with some water, ull get better results, because the bananais not slowing down the process. Just a hint.

If you just want the flavor there is a powder called Nectar that has several fruit flavors.

I mix vanilla whey protien with water, a few handfuls of frozen mixed berries (good carbs, and antioxidants), and ground flax seeds (omega's) makes an awesome protien smoothie. (Drink one of these first thing in the am, and it will give you more energy than coffee or redbull)

I mix the chocolate with skim milk, organic peanut butter, and flax seeds

Both taste more like desert than a protien shake....

My favourite around workouts is chocolate whey + oats + banana + yoghurt. At other times if you add PB to that then it is REALLY good...

If you are starting out in the AM, and want something right before a workout I prefer OJ.
If you want something traditional, like say chocolate milkshake, I use Walden Farms Calorie Free, Sugar Free chocolate sauce with a tbsp of natural peanut butter.
The great thing about vanilla is that you can toss in the kitchen sink and it will usually taste pretty damn good.
Here's a link to some vanilla whey shake recipes. forgive the designer whey uselessness:
