    Exclamation Looking to get cut

I have been looking around at this forum for a while now and have decided to take the plunge and become a member after a few months. I currently work out every other day, which I have been doing for the past two months. I am 17 years old and 160 pounds. I see little gains, but nothing big from working out for three months every other day, and because of that, I want to get into protein supplements. I dont want to get big, just cut. I looked at hydroxicut, but that takes away all your fat and I only have about 5% body fat. Every protein supplement I have looked at makes you big, which I am not looking for. Is there any protein supplement out there that can make me cut? Also, I have a feeling that im not working out right, if its possible can anyone direct me to a good guide which shows step by step reps/stuff I need to do in order to get cut. Thanks.

Well... at 5%bf I'm wagering you're pretty lean already. You need to bulk a bit and THEN cut.

at 160 pounds and 17 years of age your still growing. Your natural testosterone levels coupled with a solid diet and continued training will pay off.

Avoid Hydroxycut like like herpes. The shit doesn't work worth a damn and at 5% BF you really don't need it anyhow.

If you haven't already, read THIS.

I'm sure others will be along shortly to give you plenty of advice.

Thanks alot for that insight. Yeah, I figured Hydroxicut isnt the best choice for me. What protein do you guys suggest I take? While reading the article, the person recomended Leptigen,Leptigenmass, and Ice. While Ice is too expensive, im thinking about either leptigen's. Which one would be good for me?

    pics of yourself?

if you are at 5% that is pretty low. to be cut - have defined muscle; you need muscle.

Eat more, take protein, formulate a program based on your goals, check progress monthly. You aren't going to turn into a male model in 2wks.

All_The_Whey makes some great products at very affordable prices.

Shop around. Don't get hung up on the high-priced hype they sell you at GNC.

GNC is so grosely overpriced it's criminal.

Leptigen is a "miricle fat blocker" supplement. It's bullshit.

You need a solid diet. You need to bulk. The majority of your protein intake needs to come from clean animal sources (White Chicken, Fish, Lean Beef).

SUPPLEMENT your diet with additional protein mix.

Do NOT get sucked into the ludicrous ideology that teaches these protein mixes will make you huge and shredded.

Thanks. I am currently going to try a 5-6 meal everday with a 1:1:1 of No carb to carb days. I am drinking a gallon of water, and currently eating brown rice with chicken/ vegetables. I know GNC is overpriced, but I have credit there so I need to use it. What do you think about this http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp...entPage=family.

Personally, I like GNC's strawberry flavored 100% whey the best. The stuff you linked is fine though. Just stay away from that "Bulking Powder" nonsense, it's full of sugar and crap you don't need.

    As witmaster said:

Live by these words. The only time I ever use protein powder is if i'm in a pinch and can't get real food, or immediately after a workout. It does NOT replace good food by any means.

As far as your workout goes, read the stickies in the training forum. P-funk and cowpimp have some great articles to help you get started, then you can post a workout that you make up and people will critique it for you.

    Good luck on your bulk.
