Carbs in Meal 5
Does it matter if I have oats in Meal 5? For the past 2-3 years IVE ALWAYS DONE fat/protein for meal 5 and meal 6...but due to my schedule some days im low on carbs, so i have to throw in like 1/4-1/2 cup oats to make up for the missed carbs...
Is this fine? Or would that promote fat gain? I'm still cutting down to 6%... |

What is your bodyfat normally? Sounds like you are dieting down really hard which leads me to say that a change like that might impact your cutting efforts, in what way, however, no one will know. Best thing to do is to try it and see how your body responds, as long as you are not too close to whatever event you are dieting for.

You could have a carb cut off point. So eat carbs in meals 1-5, none in 6. Try to add some extra carbs to breakfast, and wam bam boom.

I would think so. What's the rest of your diet look like?
After almost 2 weeks... I am back and better than ever.

12-24g is hardly anything anyway mate, see how your progress is going, if it's going well there'sno need to change it IMO.

I'm cutting down too. Nothing as impressive as Mr.6% here, but I'm aiming to get from 12% (now) to 7-8% by April (if possible). Most of my nutrition knowledge comes from the BFFM eBook. I eat carbs at meal 5 & 6 but not starchy ones. No bread, sweet-potatos etc...
Is it necessary to remove all carbs (broccoli, asparagus etc) from meals 5&6 to get to my goal of 7-8% body fat?
Goal...... DL:500lb, Sqt:400lb, Bnch:300lb
Current.. DL:375lb, Sqt:335lb, Bnch:260lb Weight: 197lb (up 36lb), bf=15%ish Age:35 Training since 11/06 journal |

Ok. Will do. Thanks.
I have another question, if you'd be kind enough to offer me some advice... I'm 190lb and I have 12% bf. i.e. 167.2lb LBM, 22.8lb fat. I want to get to 7 or 8% (or whatever % will enable my abs to show really clearly). I'm hoping to have this goal accomplished in the next two months, so that I can change to a muscle-building program in April. If my lean body mass (LBM) didn't change over the next 8 weeks, bf would need to decrease to 12.6lb to equate to 7%. This is a 10.2lb loss. Over the next 8 weeks is that possible (see my diet below)? I intake 2200 calories each day (almost exactly). My basal metabolic rate plus lifestyle plus excercise burns 4000+ calories every day. If I continue to intake 200 grams of protein every day via 6 small meals, 3 hours apart, shouldn't I be able to protect my LBM and still drop a pound a week?
Goal...... DL:500lb, Sqt:400lb, Bnch:300lb
Current.. DL:375lb, Sqt:335lb, Bnch:260lb Weight: 197lb (up 36lb), bf=15%ish Age:35 Training since 11/06 journal |
