Corn tortilla crisps - bad or ok?
I had some corn tortilla crisps the other and were very tastey. So... ignoring the salt, is this an ok source of carbs? As in is corn (maize) as complex carb?
Thanks for input
I love it when a plan comes together.

Corn is not the greatest choice as a carb.... especially when processed in to a chip.
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

I also don't see a big problem with your tortilla chips if they are baked

i love snyder of hanover restaurant style tortilla chips. here are the ingredients:
blend of white and yellow corn masa, canola oil, salt. no preservatives added. there is debate on how good canola oil is, does anybody know anything about this? the nutrition label says 0 grams of saturated fat and trans fat, which seems too good to be true. i haven't seen many oils with no saturated fat. do you think this can be true? my guess it the amount is low enough in the chips to be listed as zero, but even then, i still find it hard to believe. what are your thoughts? |
