A tough question maybe for all you pro's...

I am living in Bolivia. 14,000 feet above sea level. How is the lack of oxygen affecting my muscle building and fat burning? I've been here for a year and a half, and I haven't changed my diet around that much, and I've gained fat, and have not gained any muscle, and I am loosing strength.
I have been lifting/working out for decades, and I know what I am doing. So please no stupid comments, and assume I am doing everything correct. I am just wondering if there are any professionals who knows the answer. I think there's 40% less oxygen here, than sea level...and I have a feeling my digestive system isn't working 100%...so that could also be the reason. Lemme know what you guys think...

I believe AMPK is activated during hypoxic conditions which occur at altitude. AMPK does lower protein synthesis. Maybe that part of your problem.
