How do you fight the night time hunger?

I have a terrible habit of eating at night and I think that it is a huge link to why I am not able to lose weight. I lift at night so after my workout and cardio, I am hungry. I have been thinking of trying to go to bed right away when I get home (10:00pm) so then I will not be awake to eat anything. Has anyone had this problem and if so, what have you done to either get rid of it?

I have read that our bodies were designed to tell us when we are hungry and when we aren't. If so, it doesn't make any sence that my body wants food right before it goes to sleep. I might be wrong and if so I would like to understand why this is so.
Half of knowing what you want, is knowing what you have to give up in order to get it.

I lift mid-day then eat several meals as the day goes on. You get used to the cycle.

First of all if your not eating after you workout and doing cardio, you might as well not even workout in the first place. Your body NEEDS a shake or food asap after a workout. And wtf is wrong with eating before bed? I'm at 7% bf, and eat a huge bowl of Cottage Cheese with Peanut Butter 20-40 minutes before bed.

I have a terrible habit of eating in the morning, then another 5 or so times after that......

Get your intakes and macros sorted out, develop a meal plan, and stick to it. Eating before bed may very well be a part of that, and you should really eat after a workout.

If you're starving, you need to eat, nighttime or daytime.

I eat cottage cheese and take two fish oil caps just about every night before bed, thats usually 11pm or so.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

The meal that I have been eating at night recently is peanut butter bread. I also might have a can of tuna and a banana but I think I am going to stop that because that is too close to my breakfast meal. I have a can of tuna and a banana along with a bowl of cereal. I have found that this satisfies my hunger throughtout the day. I work in an office and if I can keep my hunger down there too then I that is great. My biggest concern is just eating at night. Does anyone else have a reason why I should have a snack at night.

I understand the reason of eating shortly after lifting just for the fact that your body needs to replenish the nutrition and add protein so your muscles can recooperate.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this post again.

No. The largest meal of the day is breakfast of which I will have a bowl of cereal, can of tuna, and a banana. I then have a snack, then lunch, then a snack, then supper, lift/cardio, and then another snack minutes before I go to bed.

How about listing everything out including stats and such so we can get a better idea of where you stand.

So you lift and/or do cardio then eat a snack and go to sleep? You really need to focus your protein intake around your workouts. And many advise that you eat a meal 1-2 hours after your workout.

Hey, even us healthy freaks need to live, right? I don't drink while ON orals, but when back to my normal schedule, weekend drinking is important to keep me sane. Haha

Here is my eating regime and this does not differ for each day except for the weekend.
6:15-6:45am - Coffee, cereal and toast (PB) OR (3)eggs and two toast (PB or Butter) OR tuna and bananas
    9-ish - orange or apple
11:30-12:00 - A meal that consists of turkey or chicken or tuna, rice, veggies....(basically whatever didn't get eaten the night before)
2-ish - the apple or orange that I brought. (I am usually to busy to think of food or I am just not hungry either.)
5-ish - A supper that consists of turkey or chicken or tuna, vegetable of some kind and a starch, typically a potato either baked or stir-fried.

I will then go lift (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at 8:00pm so I can see my kids off to bed.
I will then come back at 10:00-ish and have a snack of some kind. Sometimes it is a can of tuna with a banana OR finishing up supper OR having two slices of PB on bread.

I hope this might help whatever you are looking for.
