Great topic! I am also interested. I have a carb sensitivity, so the best cutting diet for me has been carb cycling or no carb high protein with refeeds.
Diet-wise, what seems to work best for you wrt macros? I always thought keto worked best for me, but when I factor in performance, keto is a no-go.
My recent diet just focused on cals and getting enough carbs for intense workouts, and it has surpassed the keto diets by far.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

i'd rather lose slowly and be able to think.![]()

Hahhaha!
Seriously though, being as balanced as possible in my diet has helped me cut more fat than I thought possible while still making decent muscle and strength gains.
Low carb, low fat, high protein with one cheat day a week and one refeed.
Works wonders for me

I just go super basic.
Calorie controlled. Set my fats, set protein, fill in the rest with carbs. Done.
Similar to me:
1. Set cals.
2. Set protein.
3. Get healthy fats.
4. Get pre/post workout nutrition.
5. Get healthiness - fibre, vitamins, minerals [fruits, vegetables etc]
6. Fill in the rest with what you wish (carbs usually).

Pardon the off-topic interruption, but are you the same Emma-Leigh as in Bodybuilding.com Forums - View Single Post - eat the carbs last when in a meal? ? If so, is that excellent article on this site?

Any plans to duplicate it here?

Keto doesn't work for me either, but it may be that I can't handle it mentally and don't really find the point in it if I can cut fine without it. Either I crack and eat a ton of brown rice after making a bunch at one time, or my workouts feel like I'm always running on empty. Personally, the way I find that works best for me is just a consistant clean diet but strict, trying to get as close to a calorie amount as possible. Consistant weight training and cardio as well. Macronutrient ratio doesn't seem to have a big impact, although I generally shoot for 40/40/20.
