Just worry about getting healthy.
Personally your priorities are a little off if you are worrying about a few pounds over your health. Most of the weight will be water weight and will be gained back relatively easy once you become healthy again. |

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Relax and make some shakes. You can get in alot of cals that way and it goes down easier. REST.

But if you are vomiting then you might want to get yourself some electrolyte replacement with dextrose/ glucose in it. A little fructose in it would also not be a horrible idea (although this depends) as this would help keep you anabolic too. Mix it up with some water and sip on that - it will give you energy + electrolytes to replace what you have lost in the up-chuck. Then add some BCAA's or some whey powder to it - but not a lot. If your GIT is inflammed then proteins are not the BEST thing - simply because they can 'leak' into the systemic system and set up immune reactions (which can prime your body for future food intolerance). Shell fish is a HUGE cause for this. Eggs too. But if you are doing protein then either do casein (large fractions that don't 'leak' as much) or BCAA/straight amino acids (they are already in amino acid for and therefore don't set up a reaction either). Plain chix is also ok. You could add some glutamine for extra GIT health too. Don't do lactose (dairy) - your irritated gut will NOT thank you (your gut tends to lose the lactase enzyme in acute injury). Fruits/ really acidic things are icky too.... As are things high in fibre (you want to rest your gut and this is NOT resting it!!). Fats are also not the best thing to have... they tend to 'ick' the gut as well. If you DO think you can handle solids things like mashed tato (no skin) would be your best bet. You should look into going to get yourself some PROBIOTICS too - which are GOOD bacteria for your intestines (eg: tablets) and start to take these too. They will help restore the balance in your instestines. Then just rest up. Don't try to train (your body will not grow) and don't try to force feed yourself. Let yourself get better then get back to it next week! |
