    Panela cheese?

    anyone ever heard of it?
    if so is it as good as cottage cheese? My friend gave me some to try today, it was nonfat and tasted very similar to cottage cheese

    its not very common in the states but its popular in mexico:

    Panela:
    Fresh Hispanic-style cheese with flavor similar to Cottage Cheese, but with firm texture. Softens but does not melt when heated. Use in sandwiches, salads, with fruit, and in cooked foods.
