The simple answer? None.
Sugar is unavoidable in one form or another due to some breads needing it for the yeast, or minor amounts in various things. But on a meal to meal basis you shouldn't be adding any extra sugar, and you should avoid foods that have sugar added to them if at all possible. |

What kind of shake is that? Most only have about 1g of sugar. However, I think most MRP's have about 5-6g of sugar. Either way I don't think they are actually refined sugar.

Sugar is hard to avoid. It occurs naturally in alot of things. there are 6 grams in my cottage cheese, and 10 grams in my fat free yogurt...
As far as sugar I add to things, just a teaspoon in my tea. |

You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear.

This was one of the more difficult things that I had to do when I went on a meal plan.
It turns out (at least for me) that I had withdrawals from sugar. Yeah, it sounds funny, but I had the same symptoms when (years ago) I cut caffeine out of my diet. I had a lack of energy, severe headaches, and I was very short with friends and family. ![]() |

Freshman year in college when I finally broke away from the terrible eating habits of my family (never realized they were terrible until I left) I went through some type of massive withdrawal the first winter break I had.
Got massively sick and didn't eat for almost 3 weeks quite literally - had a box of crackers spread over the entire period. Lost 40lbs in probably not the most healthy way. To this day, 3 years later, I still feel the effects of that shit - nausea/lack of appetite, especially at night. Funny thing is it keeps me going to the gym though. Lifting and playing racquetball seem to stave it off somehow. Summary: FUCK SUGAR and what it can do to you. |

I don't think natural sugars a bad thing or something to be avoided. Fruits are wonderful, tasty, healthy little things with sugar. It's the yogurt with 30g of sugar added from high fructose corn syrup that's the problem.
I'm pretty much going to blow up Dannon for adding that shit to their yogurt. I just dont get it. WHY?!?!?!? |
