I have been doing a lot of reading on coconut oil and the benefits that has for a person's body. A lot is talking about vibral benefits and also thyroid benefits. This would make me believe that it is good for fighting off viruses and also help with fat loss. But that thing that my wife and I are still curious about and the reason why we have not added it to our diet is for that simple fat that it is a saturated fat and saturated fats lead to heart problems. Some of the research that I have done says that it is the saturated fat that will break down in your system unlike others and this saturated fat will not harm but is actually good for your cholesteral. Does anyone have any insight on coconut oil and any suggestions of research that I can look at to help with this decision?
I have mixed feelings about coconut oil. I never found it to be any use but the research is really growing on these MCT's. I say try it and see how you like it for yourself. One of the good things about it is that you can cook with it without worrying it turning rancid.

Its very common in southern India to cook (anything and everything) with coconut oil, I myself grew up in coconut oil. IMHO it does more bad than good. You can try it out with moderation, the food will taste very good (especially when u deep fry) and u might get addicted .
I just realized that other people have already talked about this and some more answers have already been posted. I am seeing that the majority of the people say that the only way to received the benefits of coconut oil is only to take a large amount of it. I am not going to suck on a bottle of coconut oil every day. Any thoughts?
