    Possible.....hmmm......

I am 5'10 168lbs. i have been trainin for about 3-4 months now and i have seen lots of results i guess you can say "newbie gains" i was wondering do you have to be bulking to gain muscle mass? i cant seem to reach a caloric surplus if my life depended on it. i wrote my daily intake on another page on this forum so you can go critque it. what i guess im wondering is; so, you cant gain any more muscle if you dont eat more then what your body burns off? i.e. i usually end up eating about 2200 calories and my maintenence level is about 2700-2800, so i wont be gaining any more muscle? i did my testing based off of online calorie calculators. also if i am sitting must of the day but working out 4 days a week (weight training)does that make me sedentary. lightly active, very active or exremely active? sorry lots of questions just confused.

If your working out 4 days a week, but spending a lot of time sitting around, I would consider you sedentary. Very active would be if you worked manual labor and extremelly active would be like training for a strogman competition or something. If you are not even hitting caloric maintenance you're not going to see much gains as far as muscle mass. You need to up your calorie intake, bottom line.
