I heard once that eating a fibrous veggie like, say cucumber keeps your metabolism up while you sleep.

I guess you didn't get (or chose not to get) the lame sexual reference. You'd think people would act more like adults on here.

The before bed formula just needs to be something that has a majoral amount of unsaturated healthy fats, along with a slow digesting protein and maybe some fiber. Most people get this by eating a couple spoonfulls of natural peanut butter and some cottage cheese (the cottage cheese is loaded with casein protein, very good slow digesting protein). The fiber supp just helps with the slow steady digestion of whatever you're eating.

Don't eat something like a banana before bed. A banana has a fast carb release and insulin spike which will make your sleep more difficult and probably cause you to be hungry again once your body has processed it. I wouldn't say don't eat vegitibles but really right before bed you should be eating very much of anything, just something to get in your stomach to nourish you during sleep and keep your metabolism in check.

If you are up that late then you should be eating another meal around 12:30 -1:00. No wonder why you are hungry........
