Why cause to gain weight you need to eat more calories then you expend.

oo. sorry ian i meant why should I put that picture as my avatar.

Back to the original topic. My goal is to gain strength while at the same time lowering my BF %. and then i would like to stay at a low BF% while gaining weight. therefore i can stay in specific weight classes in MMA.

just eat alot of clean calories prolly around 3,000cals. then if you gain weight stay there and if your not gaining up it 200cals every 2 weeks and repeat.

The answer is: understanding some of the finer points of nutrition and weight training..

You need to understand the role of macronutrients in nutrition. You need to understand how to change your diet to cut, yet not diet down so much that your body will eat it's muscle for nourishment. You really need to know key information about yourself, such as, what is your caloric maintenance level?

You also need to know what type of workout best helps to maintain what you've got while you're restricting your caloric intake.

Again, there is no easy answer. You can start be reading the stickies at the top of this forum. Starting with .

alright so now i know how to make a good diet. this works for both cutting bulking, etc correct?

5-6 meals a day(my question is does this include PWO shakes) also should those be 5-6 full meals or does that also count as snacks like a bag of nuts or beef jerky?
5-6 liters of water a day
alot of fibrous veggies(a lot is a relative term how many should i eat a day?)
    Alot of protein
    complex carbs
    EFAs
    no sugar

    5-6 meals. yes
i count my pwo shake as a meal.
i try for 1gallon of water aday.
    yes veggies.
1.5-2g of protein per lb of bw
2-3g of carbs for lb of bw
yes EFA's 6-10g aday.(i have to go take mine )

that would all be for clean bulking^^. cutting is a lil different and toomany variebls(sp?) to know what you need to cut.
