P-Max and CHOLESTEROL
Gonna get my cholesterol levels checked in a couple days, gonna have to fast for 24 hours before hand which is pretty lame...
Anyone else do this? How effective or useful is it?

It's only useful if you get a full lipid profile (Total chol, HDL-c, calc LDL-c & triglycerides). ApoA1:ApoB is also worth getting done, as is Lp(a).
As glucose, homocysteine (Hcy) and blood pressure also affect your risk factor for CHD, you might as well get those done too (if you have any blood left in your arm!).

Yeah it's going to be the full profile, I'm not sure if they're going to check my homocysteine but that's something I really want since there is so much of your overal health that can be determined by it.
Not sure how much blood they're gonna take but I'm considering donating plasma soon too. ![]()
