too low carb?

What are the signs that one is going too low carb on a diet?

Sleeplessness, foggy thinking, constipation, bloating, dizzy, fatigue, no muscular endurance, loss of strength.

the only symptom I have is constipation-ewwww. My water is at agllon and a half to two a day. iT happens when I diet for a contest. I do a refeed every week like Jodi says with clean and cheating carbs. I'm fine, losing a lb a week on average. Thats all I want to lose. I'm just saying that I need to know.

why are your carbs so low right now? Didn't you say in another thread that you are 16 weeks?

Holy smacks! 100g a week? That's like anorexic status right there! I take that much in a day when I'm cutting.

yes. I am. I took the advice under my trainer, but I'm thinking of ditching his ideas and going with my own. I want to increase my carbs on a rotational basis, but fear the weight is going to creep back on. I'm alright now) most of the time), but I'm thinking of long term. I'm going to be fucking miserable. Just trying to curtail some of that misery. I was thinking of adding a refeed in the middle of the week.

How lean are you at 16 weeks out? I just don't see the point in dropping that low. It doesn't give you much "wiggle room" as you near competition time.

Okay, realizing that maybe I am going too low carb, & not forgetting that I'm very carb sensitive, what would be an ideal carb intake during the week?

Low-carbing should not cause constipation if you are eating fibrous carbs. Try adding a heaped tablespoonful of powdered linseeds to a shake, food or water. That will sort your bowels out.

Psyllium husk is just soluble fibre. Powdered linseeds are soluble fibre, protein, omega-3 EFAs, minerals, vitamins & co-factors. See http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/m_174936...tm.htm#1749883

almost two weeks later: I have upped my carbs by about 25g a day and have noticed the weight dropping at a steady pace. I merely added another good carb source (either oats or strawberries) whatever i choose. I have also noticed that I am more "regular" and that my mental acuity is a bit sharper. Lesson learned: I am through cutting carbs off way to early in the game, and that the body actually needs carbs to digest all the food taken in. Thank you to all, point well taken!
