I dont do a whole hell of alot of bulking since I gain weight so easy, but I would say maintain for a few weeks then start a cut
I've been bulking for the first time over the past several months, and I've gained a good 8 lbs, I'm about 10 lbs away from my goal, but my question is, once you get to that goal and want to start losing body fat, do you start cutting, or just maintaining at that point?

Go a little past the weight you want to be and then cut down to your preferred weight.

Several months to gain 8 pounds on a bulk? How much of that is LBM and how much is unwanted fat? I wouldn't be surprised that if you cut you'll be back where you started tho you probably will look better

Well, its 9 lbs as of now, to put me at 154lbs, but most of it looks to be LBM, as my body looks just about the same, and my waist size hasn't really increased. I'm not looking to put a ton of weight on. BTW, does 5'8", 165lbs seem reasonable as a long-term weight and not too little??

Yep at your height that weight goal should be easily maintained... maybe even higher like 180. I'm 5'11 and can hold 180 easy... it takes a lot of food to keep me at 200... age, activity, individual body chemistry/metabolism/genetics, diet, etc.. all play a role but again at your height 165 is definately doable and 170 - 175 might not be all that difficult to maintain once you get there too. Just my .02
