    Help me lose weight!

This is the strangest thing to ever happen to me. This time two yeas ago I was losing weight on the same diet I am on now, only now I have more muscle and I am eating less calories.

    Day 1:

    8:00am
    3 Large Eggs
    1/4 cup oatmeal dry

    11:00pm
    5oz ribeye steak
1 cup steamed veggies (broccoli & squash)
    1/4 cup oatmeal dry

    2:00pm
    5oz ribeye steak
    1/2 cups Cottage cheese

    5:00pm
1 and 1/2 cups Cottage cheese

    7:00pm
1 and 1/2 cups Cottage cheese
1 cup steamed veggies (broccoli & squash)

    9:30:00pm
1 and 1/2 cups Cottage cheese

    Day 2:

    8:00am
    3 Eggs
    1/4 cup oatmeal dry

    11:00pm
    3 Eggs
    1/4 cup oatmeal dry

    2:00pm
1/2 cup mixed nuts raw and unsalted (cashews, Brazil nuts, and almonds)
    1 cup Cottage cheese

    5:00pm
    1 cup Cottage cheese

    7:00pm
    8oz broiled salmon
1 cup steamed veggies (broccoli & squash)

    9:30:00pm
    1 cup Cottage cheese

I am also supplementing everyday with lots of fish oil. I can not for the life of me figure out why I haven't lost a single pound eating like this for over a week. I know my diet is missing lots of things, but this is the best I can do considering my hectic work schedule. I haven't been consuming any sugar other than a little bit of milk. I never drink more than two cups a day of milk.

I also plan to add flax for breakfast and try to squeeze in more veggies.

You're not getting enough fats in that diet. Fish oil? Walnuts? Natty PB? Also, how many calories are you taking in each day?

It looks like a poor diet to me. There's no chicken or tunafish in there either except for a broiled salmon. You should also include brown rice and yams. No fruit either?

What happened two years ago doesn't necessarily mean it should happen now. Your body changes all the time and your metabolism may have slowed down. I highly recommend you to read the ebook "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto like i mentioned in your other thread.

I thought I was getting more fat than I need. The cottage cheese is packed what healthy dairy fats and so are the nuts.

I was not aware that dairy fat was a good fat.

Yeah, the calories are in the 2000 range. I am sensitive to carbs. I have eaten fruit in the past and the fructose stopped my weight lose in its tracks or so it seems.

that is some serious low carbs. I mean it depends entirely on your lifestyle, so if you have a full time job that is sedentiary and the only activity you do is hit the gym then im sure you can get away with it.... but being that low your just going to have no energy what so ever.

    My advice:

    More carbs
    More veggies
    Add fruits
    Little more EFA's

I used to be ascared of carbs too... not no more. My diet is actually 30/50/20, mostly carbs. But thats because of the life i lead.

    good luck

Look into carb cycling. I'm not exactly sure where to find it, but Twin Peak wrote articles on it over at Avant/M&M a couple of years ago. Its a great way to drop lbs without having to count cal's all the time. I've been doing my own version of it and its been working great.

    EDIT:
I dug it up through google, apparently its on BB.com. First time i read it was over at Avant (before they split into different sites or what not, i've been out of the loop for a while now). Nevertheless, here's the link:

You need more EFA's man. You don't need many carbs, you need fats.

    I disagree.

The single BIGGEST mistake most individuals make while cutting is restricting carbohydrates too much!

You should be consumnig at LEAST 25-50grams of low-glycemic carbs in every meal.

And those should come from vegetables and fruit only. You could strategically add in some oats, like before your workout, but that's all you need.

    I can agree with that
