i agree its hard to hit those kinda cals. everyday. sometimes i get so pissed off listening to people cry about loosing weight they dont even realize some of us are struggling our asses off to put weight on i wish i was on a cutting cycle bulking is 100 times harder cutting is easy all you need is a healthy low fat diet and descent cardio all though what i call descent is pretty intense for most anyways keep those cals. up and good luck to ya by the way a weight gainer is a quick and easy way to raise your calories dont live off of it you must eat as well eat everything in sight.

I did 5 meals a day at around 1400 cal's each. You get used to it after the first few days. Bathrooms do come in handy though ... clean ones that is.

I ate all the meat/fish/poultry groups, a shit load of fruit and veggies, pasta, egg croissant breakfast sandwiches, and drank whey shakes/smoothies as my beverage of choice. If you lift/work out hard enough and drink that gallon of water a day you will adjust very quickly.

    Good luck man you'll get-er-done

I wouldn't say that really. Although i'm a fatty so i will never know how a hardgainer eats, but i've been at both ends of the spectrum. Cutting with CKD's and bulking with 4500+kcals. Bulking was waay easier to me, i wasn't eating all clean of course and i gained a bunch of fat, but hardgainers won't have that problem. I had a great time with that, I got to eat stuff i never eat on a regular basis (pasta with sauce, english muffins, white rice, burgers etc). Hell after leg day i would eat a double whopper as a reward for surviving another one, lol.

I get mad at the so called "hardgainers" who complain about not being able to put on weight. I tell em you gotta eat and they say "yea i do eat" meanwhile when i'm with them for 6+hrs i chow down atleast twice and they don't even look at food...and I'm cutting. Sorry but i have no pity for people who can maintain six packs while eating McDonald's all day.

I ate 4500 cals a day for a couple months. Now 4000 is good for me for a slow bulk.

I'm trying to hit 3500-4000 plus the water and it still hasn't gotten easier. It's been a month now. My wife says I look like a tick at the end of the day. I will literally lose up to three pounds overnight. Where the hell do those pounds go? My hardest times are on the weekend since I don't have my time regulated. At work by 6am with set breaks during the day makes it a lot easier to schedule the meals...

In the 4K range over the past few months. Put on some nice size too.

I've never had a problem putting weight on that's for sure. I've actually been trying to slim out for a majority of my life...

How far did you raise them up from? You don't want to raise them too high right away.

Used to aim for around 5000/day when i had an active job that involved doing stuff.. Now the majority of my job involves sitting around so i aim for around 3500 and im slowly putting weight on.

I'm bulking for 4 weeks as of right now and intaking 3500+ calories of clean meals is a *****! Cutting is so much easier than bulking for me. I don't know why. =(

No, I tried knocking off all the cardio but to tell you the truth doing a little cardio helps ramp up my appetite. Double edged sword I guess...

Last time I bulked was 3 years ago and that was the most I ever set my cals at. A mere 2100 cals per day to bulk.

Well, you don't need to be bulking to require a lot of calories. If I'm in training and on my extended cardio days, I can be on a cut and still require 3,800 -4,000 cals simply because I'll burn anywhere from 4,200 - 4,500 cals in one day.

I will always eat good clean food though. Junk calories don't even count in my mind, I can't see filling the gas tank in my car with sand and water and saying hey at least I'm putting something in it. It's not gonna burn right and will just slow me down and screw me up.

The highest I've set my calories at for average daily consumption was/is around 4000-4400 calories a day... Some days it was probably closer to 5000 (Chipotle anyone?), some days it was probably around 3500 depending on many factors.

Yeah but you're a lil tiny female and we're like 100 pounds heavier than you. At 2100 calories a day I'd turn into that dude off of The Machinist.

Amen to that, I can't put size on no problem. I'm primarily looking for a little less marshmellow look these days though.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

Same - I haven't had the opportunity to bulk yet, I still need to cut this shit off of my body. Soon as my running shoes arrive (between Monday and Wednesday) the cardio marathon begins - just can't run in these walking shoes, it kills my shins.
