Read some of the stickies and re-think your diet. 1200 calories is far too low for pretty much anyone.
Hi! This is my 1st post here!
I understand that conventional wisdom is to take
1gram of protein per. pound of your body weight
each day for weight lifting repair, muscle growth etc.
However in MY case,
much of the weight is FAT, rather than muscle!
I used to be in decent shape about 15 years ago,
but since then, I have stopped working-out and
have been drinking alot of Beer(Sierra Nevada)
I am 5'10" and at my worst, I got-up to 260lbs.
In the last couple of months,
I've been "power-walking"and weightlifting.
I am now at 240lbs.(I know I'm still a fat-basturd!)
My goal is to be under 200lbs.
As of New Years; I have completely stopped drinking Alcohol
and recently; I have been limiting my calories to 1200Day
to hopefully lose weight.
So since most of my weight is in fat,
rather than muscle,
should I still take 240grams of protein a day
or how much in my case?
Thanx!

ya whatever you do try to get at least a gram of protein per lb of body weight. if you want to lose fat stay away from simple sugars and carbs in the evenings. find your BMR and go from there to find how many calories you need to eat
Not the "1,200" calorie plan again!!
Why does everyone think this is a one-size-fit-all acceptable calorie restriction? It's not!
Read up my friend. Good luck
