Hey guys! I was feeling like I had a cold over the past couple of days- I did run my usual 8 mi on Sunday(had trouble breathing due to congestion) and then BAM Monday at work I thought I was gonna die!
Went to Dr had 101 fever and slept the rest of the night. Woke up and had huge appetite(which when I am sick is unusual) I did eat my usual protein of 175 g. Usually I only have like 45 carbs per day fduring the week but I had 125 g (all good sources) Today I feel alittle better - but the gym is def out/ This pisses me off cause I was on a great roll! My question is what is the best way to conserve and/or maintain during sickness? Should I eat less cals, more carbs ect?? Should I adjust my diet any way once I am 100%. Help I don't want to lose any gains I have made or gain any fat I have lost! I worked too damn hard!!!Pls give me any advice!!! THANKS!!!![]() |

Hmmmm, i would think your body needs a little extra fuel to heal itself so i wouldn't stop eating.
I know a fever wipes the hell outta me, the bodys gotta be burning some cals to keep a 101 temp going. Hope you feel better soon.
Cool

Yeah, you need to eat....and usually you can't when you're sick, lol....but the best thing to do is try to eat normally...it depends on how sick you are/feel. Not a time to be cutting back on the calories. Make sure you drink lots of water too.

thanks guys- I dunno why but I cannot stop with the carbs! I have had close to 200 g- I usually have only 35 per day. Its real strange and I feel like I have gone so off the ramp..
I still have a low grade fever and my BF won't let me go to the gym tommorow no matter what...I guess its for the best- My muscles better enjoy this and relax!! |

If your honestly sick, I would probably force myself to sit it out for a day or whatever it takes to get better (2 days?). It would be my guess that your just opening the door to extending your sickness...

Heh... no I was being serious, it sucks to have setbacks (ask me how it feels to cut the palm of your hand, thats a setback
), but if your sick, wether 24 hour flu or what, I'd say "this sucks" and try to get better ![]()
