    Fish Oil - EPA:DHA?

I've been taking fish oil with the regular ratio of epa:dha (186mg:111mg) @6caps/day as has been suggested here. But I was reading a thread at MM.com where a suggestion was for a product with 400mg EPA and 24mg DHA per two soft gels. Is there any benefit in going with this ratio? opinions? suggestions?

Sure it wasn't 400 - 240? That ratio seems a lot closer to other products.

Personally I don't see the point in taking a product that emphasizes more of a certain thing then the other. The body likes homeostasis, there has to be consequences for trying otherwise. JMHO.

They said EPA more positively effects mood. But another said that DHA is more required for younger (kids) and older folk.

This is the product page of the product i mentioned above with the reasoning for higher EPA. EPA Brite

The benefit of high EPA over DHA is that it's great for depression, mood and anxiety. If you don't have any of these problems, then I wouldn't bother with paying the price of higher EPA or EPA only fish oils.

Jodi, if i remember correctly you switched from the Costco brand to Robs brand? Do you feel a difference in anyway? or is it something that 'works in the background'?

I use more than just Rob's Essence brand. I use that for an assortment but I use pure, high quality fish oil as well. I don't feel a difference no but I like FA profile on it. I like more fish oil than what is in it though which is why I also use fish oil.
