Question Turkey Burgers

I've heard some of you mention that you buy pre-made frozen turkey burgers. Can someone please post specific brand information? I need to find a brand that is sold here (Georgia). The only type that I could find is made out of turkey theigh, not breast, so the burgers only have 13 grams of protien each. I am looking for burgers made of lean turkey breast that is minimally processed.

I have been buying fresh lean ground turkey and making the burgers at home (on the George Foreman grill) but it seems that fresh ground turkey is not always available. I am really eager to find a good quality frozen burger, due to the fact that chicken, egg whites, tuna, and cottage cheese can get really boring after a while!

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry Miss L, they are easy to get here and I don't pay attention to the brands. I think the last I got was from costco/price club/BJs.

Hey I didn't know you lived in Atlanta!

kuso, this is not a turkey-self pity thread! Well, I guess it is. That sucks for you kusoness. You'd think it was some sort of hot commodity here, since I can't always find it!

TP, what of it? What of the fact that I live in the ATL? I need to join Sams/Costco. We keep saying we will join one of those places when we get a house. And that project is taking a little longer than expected.

Keep the ideas coming peeps! Thanks!

I found turkey burger patties at Smart and Final, but they are all high in fat

Mudge, I see in your profile that you are in CA, which would explain why I have never heard of those stores. Are the patties that you buy made of turkey parts other than breast, or is just not lean breast? And let me ask this again....

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND SOME HIGH QUALITY TURKEY BURGERS?

I'm not sure, if I recall correctly they were 22g protein and I think 15 or 18g fat, they bragged about being leaner than beef by some 50%, but they were still pretty high I thought (15? 18? one of the two).

Maybe you could get meat grinder & buy turkey breasts in bulk & make your own patties. The grinder costs from $50-$100,but it'll pay for itself in convenience.
