Post pre or post cheat day workout?

Just curious, what do you think, is it better to have a good, hard workout the morning of your total cheat day or the morning of the day after? Having a cookout today, so I'm on my way to the gym this morning before I indulge in lots of bad foods and I'm sure plenty of alcohol all day. I usually take saturdays off from the gym and go sun. mornings, but I know after drinking all day that sun. morning gym will not be a reality. So I figured that if I went today, at least I wouldn't be skipping a workout.

Baumer,

When I know I am going to have a cheat day, I try to workout the morning of. I would feel incredibly guilty if I ate and drank like a pig, then went on to skip my workout the next day. Chances are, a lot of the cookout food you'll be eating is high in protein (burgers, hot dogs, pasta salads). So all that protein can be used to refuel your body after your morning workout.

Just my opinion. I've seen your pics, and I don't know who the hell I am to be giving you advice.

I do the same. Working out (cardio) on my cheat day makes me feel like I'm not doing as much damage. I never feel guilty about what I eat, but I feel better when I do some cardio on the day of a cheat. And assuming you're not hung over and pigged out on total junk, a workout w/ weights the next day should make you feel great because of the extra food in your system. Not always the case though. It depends on whether you pig out on junk or just add extra carbs/calories.
