Olive Oil
Is there any reason I should not put that in my whey shake? I used to use flax oil but now I am too cheap to buy it...can olive oil be ok instead? I put like 1tbsp
I cook everything with olive oil. |

olive oil has a very strong taste to it. That is one reason why I would not like it, but if it works for you then go for gold son.

The reason for Flax is to get the n3's in your diet. Olive oil is predominantly n6.
Ideally we want a ratio of 2:1 to 4:1 of n6 to n3 in our diet. Current diets have a ratio pushing 20:1 |

flax seed, or olive oil?
eh ive always thought itd taste kinda..shit. but i guess since i use about 2 cups of milk in my shakes these days it might not be too bad to add a tbsp of olive oil in there. i heard if you have 2 servings a day you get bad diahrrea (sp) ![]() |

Personally I can't stand the taste of flax seed oil. What about just buying some ground flax seed and putting that in the shakes? I do think the ground flax seeds are a lot cheaper than the oil.

I love olive oil....guess growing up around a bunch of italian food will do that too you... I prefer the way flax oil tastes in my chocolate shake vs the olive oil....but right now money is tight. I will go back to flax eventually....I like some fats in my shake PWO.

I will agree eggs do not taste great in olive oil...but its healthy...I used to cook them in flax, or butter (yum).....but for the sake of health I only buy olive oil....ok I have butter...and peanut oil for the VERY occational fried food, or when I make biscuits and gravy..(super yum)
So basically I use olive oil when possible....and its cheaper then flax otherwise I would use flax more...or equally...I like the nutty flavor of Barleans Flax. |

All depends on what kind of olive oil you buy... it can get pretty price. Almost viewed like a fine wine.
