Question low carb diet

hi everybody, i was wondering if anybody has found the perfect way to incorporate a low carb diet to stay lean and healthy (if you believe what dr.atkins says regarding high carb diets and their responsibility for all kind of diseases) into a body building life style. i tried strict atkins at first for a couple of months on only about 30g carbs per day, but my workouts suffered big times. then i tried the ckd, eating carbs only on the weekend, but i don't like that either because i wanna have great workouts 4-5 times a week, not just two! right now i eat carbs only after working out. a cup of pineapple juice with creatine and glutamine, a banana, and some pasta or a potatoe with meat and veggies for dinner. at all other times i still eat very low carb, and higher fat and protein. i still wanna get a little leaner, so i take in about 500cal below maintenance. afterwards i was just gonna eat more again, but still very low carb. what do you all have to suggest, what are your experiences with low carb dieting and bodybuilding? how do you incorperate carbs to support your training??? i don't wanna make mistakes that will hold back my training results.

I am kinda carb-sensitive, so to lose weight, I know I have to keep my carbs low. But my workouts really suffer. However 30g of carbs would be kinda useless to me. Carbs are not the enemy they've been made out to be. They do fuel your workouts better than protein or fat.

As long as you create a caloric deficit and eat a balanced bb diet, you should be able to lose fat and maintain muscle.

When I was dieting, I ate 1500 kcals at a breakdown of 50/30/20 p/c/f. This was a pre-comp diet however and there's no reason why you couldn't lose bf w/ a breakdown of 40/30/30 or 40/40/20, eating 500 less kcals than your maintenance, and combining 3-4 days of cardio.

I don't believe there is the perfect diet. You need to log your intake and progress and find what works perfectly for you. If you find eating 30g carbs makes you feel like shit, then up your carbs. Do you want to go through life looking great but feeling like shit? Try upping them to 100g and see how you feel. Adjust it as necessary. Just be sure to watch the fat intake. There's no reason to eat high fat when there is carbs in your diet.

You could even try cycling your kcals or your macro breakdown. For example, 40/40/20 for two days, 50/30/20 for two days, 40/30/30 for two days and have a cheat on the 7th.

BTW, welcome

I was 'carb crazy' for awhile, till about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I watched carbs in everything right down to sauces and condiments. I barely ate any carbs, definitely less than 100 grams a day, and never any at dinner, because I eat later, like between 7 and 8:00pm and I was afraid of carbs turning to fat. Plus I drasticaly lowered calories too fastWell, I lost weight, too much for my liking, and sure my bodyfat dropped quite a bit, but let me say, I was miserable! Everyone was telling me how thin I looked, and that I was very edgey and moody, and I was. Not to mention I was always fatigued. So, what I've been doing now is slowly increasing calories and not worrying too much about carbs, I just make sure I balance them out with protein. I eat pasta, bread, tortillas at dinner, just as long as it's with some form of protein. You may look cut and shredded, but for me it wasn't worth feeling horrible constantly
