    New Diet

    Time for a new diet, I've neglected changing it up for way too long and it's starting to show

    Any comments are welcome. All calorie/macros are approximations but should be within a couple places of the actual values (who trusts FitDay entirely?)

    Meal 1
    1 whole large egg
    1/2 cup oats
    1.5 scoops ATW whey
    1 cup skim milk

    P: 50

    Cals: 433

    Meal 2
    2 slices Ezekiel bread
    6oz chicken
    4 walnut halves
    1 slice tomato
    MUSTARD!

    Meal 3
    1/2 cup long grain brown rice
    8oz chicken <--I really doubt FitDay on this one. Protein values seem low.
    1 medium apple

    These days I have class from 3:30PM until either 6:30pm or 10pm. It's really not feasible to be carrying a cooler around and pop it open in the middle of class, but I can bring a shaker with water and a packet of this stuff.

    My bad, my diet does lack veggies in general but I didn't include them on the calorie count page. I just eat veggies on top of everything else (bagged salads mostly), I don't really count them.

    Goals: The last two rows of abs I've been eyeing for a while. I was at four before the semester started and messed me up, gained maybe 1-2lbs of fat over the last 2 months - enough so I can't see the top 4 as much.

    Stats: Age: 21
    Weight: Somewhere around 162-165lbs
    BF: No idea, but it must be hovering around 13% to be able to see abs at all

    The changes that were made were basically just an increase in overall calories. I used to eat 1800-1900 calories, but I never accounted for any of the gains in muscle that I've made. That and dry chicken and potatoes were getting seriously old, which is why I didn't include potatoes and only have 1 meal of chicken without something else included.

    Btw the reason I don't actually know my bodyweight or bodyfat is because those numbers aren't all that important to me. I measure my progress by gains in strength and how I look in the mirror honestly.

    I wouldn't really count bagged salads as a good veggie. It seriously lacks vital nutrients. You need better veggie choices than that.

    Salad in a bag is different than regular salad? Where arethe nutrients lost if someone cuts the greens for you?

    Salad in a bag is iceburg lettuce. Iceburg lettuce lacks nutrients.

    Romaine is a better choice but they don't make many bagged salad with romaine.

    About to head to sleep but the bagged salad I buy specifically says romaine lettuce on the side. I don't have a bag next to me, but I believe it has a combination of cabbage, iceberg, romaine, and carrots.

    The iceburg is nothing but water and lacks nutrients. If you can find a salad that has all romaine and maybe some spinach that would be a much better choice. If not, you can buy romaine and chop it yourself. If not, then try to add some better choices like broccoli and spinach.

    Iceburg lettuce = shit

    Every single company makes Romaine Salad in a bag. As well as other varieties of field greens. There are a ton of choices for bagged salads. As long as you purchase those you are fine.

    The ones I buy are only Romaine or they are romaine/spinach combos.

    yea, me either. It used to be pretty much the only one you could find in pre-cut mixes. But that was a long time ago. They have so many choices now.

    Guess it's been a while since I bought bagged salads. Those things freak me out from all the bacterial infections that have been a result of bagged salads. I'll stick to chopping up my own.

    This is true but you aren't hearing about the bacterial infections from fresh produce as you are from bagged salads

    I completely agree and I would rather be eating fresh vegetables, but the fact is that I often just don't have the time or capability to cut up and carry around salads. They go bad fast, and I can only do it on the weekends. That's the reason I precook all of my food for the following week on Sundays.

    With the exception of 1 or 2 days, it really is bagged salads or nothing. What time isn't taken up by my internship or school is taken up by either the gym or studying for my CCNA and BSCI tests.

    Maybe when I'm home which is mostly on Friday and the weekends, I'm looking for solutions for the 13 hours a day I'm on campus between work and school and the gym.

    I take frozen veggies with me all the time. I just put them in a tupperware and by the time I'm ready to eat them, they are thawed out and its just like eating cold cooked veggies.

    How the hell did I miss the obvious answer of "don't leave the frozen vegetables in the freezer".

    Since you've done it, is 3 hours enough time to go from frozen to eatable?
    I'll probably do a mixture of frozen vegetables and bagged salads to not get bored.

    Anyway, any comments on the actual diet or am I good?

    Shouldn't need any major changes, but figured I'd ask - might as well make use of some awesome resources.

    The only other thing I notice, other than the veggies, is fish oil. Why are you using flax oil over fish oil? Personally, I feel both are needed.

    There actually is a reason for that - maybe it was just the brand, but the fish oil I had been taking caused my liver enzymes to spike to ridiculously high levels. It wasn't the minocycline at all.

    It was like Nature's Promise or something - i.e. generic stop n shop brand. I was taking around 8g of it per day.

    Do you mean 8G of epa/dha? If so, that's a shitload. Or do you mean 8 caps?

    Have you tried lowering it to 2-3 caps per day and see how that does?
