    Going out

When you go out to eat....what things do all of you try to order or avoid? I try to order the right stuff, but going out to eat, is a real challenge... I try and order things I think will be ok, but after awhile your plate looks real boring...and then you think...ok whats the point of going out.

I avoid starchy carbs like the plague. other than that I don't worry about my intake of fats when eating out.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Before I 'got healthy' I used to eat out all the time. Mexican, Chinese, Italian, American..you name it! But now, since it is so hard to eat out and eat healthy, I go out much less often. And when I do go out, I eat the same thing I would eat at home (chicken, salmon....) so it is somewhat pointless.

However, it is always nice to go out to eat once in a while...have someone else serve you and someone else clean up. AND if you've eaten clean for a while, and you deserve a cheat, then eating out is a great idea!

I don't find it hard to eat healthy at a restaurant

I never eat the rice or potatoes or whatever side dish comes w/ it. But for meat I usually get chicken or steak....or alligator, ostrich, buffalo and get a salad on the side.

it depends, we typically only eat out at a sit down dinner once per week, so most of the time I just eat whatever I want on that day.

Today we went to Applebees with friends...I ordered the bacon cheese chicken grill sandwhich...with no bacon, no cheese, no bun, and sub grilled veggies for fries! How's that for an easy order?

alligator meat is very tasty, probably because it's pretty fatty. it very hard to find, the last place I had it at was at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

I prefer to stick to seafood when we go out, but a steak and salad works too.

Steak and lobster with a salad - even better
