Now here's an interesting, albeit strange, study on the effects of BMI and income:
"Our results indicate that increased body fat is unambiguously associated with decreased wages for both males and females. This result is in contrast to the mixed and sometimes inconsistent results from the previous research using body mass index (BMI). We also find new evidence indicating that a higher level of fat-free body mass is consistently associated with increased hourly wages. We present further evidence that these results are not the artifacts of unobserved heterogeneity."

I'd buy it on the basis that people who take care of themselves, also take care to educate themselves and perform well in their career. Plain and simple, fat equals lazy unless there is a medical conditon that points to the contrary.
Our nation is a mess of fat under achievers. Thats not to say that there aren't some real butterball CEO's in the world, bur more cases than not I'm sure you'd find a average-fit person in those more successful positions.
Good thread.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

My wife lost 310lb (yup, 310lb) after gastric bypass and now finds it much easier to find a job. That's kind-of an extreme example but it's in agreement with the topic.
On the other hand other hand, eggs just went up 50¢ all across my town (from $1.49 to $1.99/doz!). That's a 33% price hike! At a dozen eggs a day that adds $15/mo to my food bill. Pretty soon it'll only be the higher paid people that can honestly afford to eat the healthy food required to maintain low body fat.
Catch 22.
