    Is this right!

I know I saw this posted on this forum before, but MY container of heavy whipping cream states it has

    For
    2 TBS
    60 cals
    6gms fat
    1 carb

Now, I usually don't go exteme with nitpicking, but this is a HUGE differnce...I even looked it up elsewhere, and it says

1 TBS has 50 cals and 5 GRAMS OF FAT.

I have been putting this stuff in my shakes all day, and I am gonna be WAY OFF...Do compainies get it wrong..What should I go by!

Danilee - sounds like you bought Half N Half or Light Cream? That is definately not Heavy Whipping Cream.

    Mochy,

I went and got carton out of the fridge.

    Grade A
    Whipping Cream
says it all over the pint...

    Is the company wrong?

even when I was pouring the tbs to measure them, I thought it looked so rich that no way could it only have 3 grams a tbs...but low and behold that is what the carton says...Should I just go with another breakdown, and not use this company again?

It looks like you have a company called Meadow Gold that make heavy cream as well. I can't find calories and fat but I would check out the grocery store and see if you can find it. Maybe it will have the right numbers. I've never had a problem finding heavy cream. They all have had the same nutrition facts and I've lived in a few different states. Hope that helps.

    Danilee-
I almost made the same mistake. You bought "whipping cream", what you need to buy is "HEAVY whipping cream". There is a diff.
    Just thought I'd try and help ( ;

    Leslie,

Well, the nutrient break down is about the same, just get more TBS for less cals and fat, no extra carbs...I thought maybe it was a typo on the carton, but if whipping cream has these stats it should be OK to use. I was really worried that using 4-5 tbs in my shakes were going to shoot the cals sky high, if in fact it had 50 cals a tbs...

I really wanna know...Whipping cream has 6gms fat ber TBS, and HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM has 5gms fat per TBS? If so, heck I will stick with the lower fat and cals, and low carb one..It is thick rich and creamy...I just did'nt want to be adding more cals than what the carton says...

SO, leslie, you have seen the difference RIGHT...So I can go ahead and use 4 tbs of the stuff in my shakes?

I know its odd...you would think the one with more fat would be caleld "heavy" right?!

I use the HEAVY whipping cream because that's what the DPW8 team has instructed. I was putting only 2 Tbsp in my shake, but W8lifter said to up it to 3 Tbsp per shake for now.

I don't know-but 4-5 tbsp sounds like a bit too much fat for one meal(25g). But I am not the one to tell you how many is good for your goals.
BTW what kind of protein powder are you using, if you don't mind me asking. I was using Metrx Vanilla butter creme(only 3c) It was yummy and added texture to the shake. I ran out then bought Designer whey(strawberry) because I get good deals on Designer- and it tasted OK but the shake doesn't have the same consistency....

    Leslie,

4 tbs of the whipping cream(the less fat stuff ) has only 12 grams of fat and 120 cals. 3 tbs of HEAVY whipping cream has 15 grams of fat AND 150 cals...I just thought I could use more and have the same values..>Then I thought that maybe the carton was wrong and I WAS having 20-25 grams of fat in the shake...From what you offered, the carton was more than likely right(I hope

I use designer pro, choc flav(for now) The consistancy is good, REALLY good with cream. I had sworn off dairy for the last year or so(except for junk food binges of course) and it is great to have something added in the shake...Then again, I might not like it so much if I would have been adding milk or somthing all along..
    Designer with water ho hum
    Designer with cream oh yum!

My head is spinning! Girl you need to go out and buy just buy heavy cream for now! Chocolate D with water- I used to do that always- unitil the shake thing was brought to surface. Chocolate won't work for me now cause I put 4 strawberries in my shake for a couple of carbs and more YUM! Delish!
Thanks for the compliment- But not ready now thats for sure! Need some more muscle and less fat. Doesn't everyone?
