Flax seeds vs. Flax Oil?

Hello everyone, this is the first post on this site!! Looks like a great site so far. Any way just a quick question regarding actual flax seeds. I am on a very strict budget and am currently on a cut. I recently purchaced a bag of premium flax seeds for $3.50 (canadian) and i was wondering how many spoonfulls would be equivelent to taking 5ml or a teaspoon of oil?.

Thanks

Match the label for 5 grams of fat! You must grind them however, don't eat them whole!

I have been reading that eating them hole is pefectly fine. Why would it be crucial to grind them??......your digestive system will still absorb the contents of the seeds.

Many seeds are not digestable, even if these are at least it would speed the process of breaking them down (just like chewing, minus the enzymes).
