    Diet Coke and Snapple

Ok This thread was probably already started- but I can't find any info!

Diet Coke/Snapple....How bad is it really? I used to be a diet coke junkie- but I have lightened up tremendously. I love the stuff and read somewhere that the soda actually makes it harder fo ryou to lose fat. Any info out there?

I believe Diet Coke still contains caffeine, which was discussed in a recent thread here.

As for Snapple, it contains a lot of sugar (even if it is natural) and therefore should be avoided IMO.

Leslie.......this is related to the artificial sweetners/gum issue! When w8 is good and ready she will face these demons...., she will do the research...........and the world will know the truth!: D

I just finally got people to believe me about caffeine, I've tried on the sweetner issue before!

My bad, sorry. I should have assumed that.

Drinking the occasional soda or fruit juice isn't really going to affect you in any negative way that you can't counteract. Many fitness competitors I know drink lots of Diet Coke and they are still shredded. Do what you enjoy and just keep the negative effects to a minimum. Obviously what you are doing is working!

IMO all these myths about brain cancer are just that.

cokes contain carbonation, which makes you bloated and retain water.. my suggestion, water with a squeezed lemon

    Good suggestion!

    Ladies.....please stop worrying....:

Two things to know for now:

If your soda has Phosphoric Acid in it....it WILL leach Calcium rapidly out of your body!

AND....now this is the biggy....and I'm not going to argue or debate this with anyone. There is research on Aspartame suggesting a link between insulin levels and one's inabiltiy to lose both BF or BW! I'm gonna propose that some people....and I have major empirical evidence to back this up....are so IR that ANY sweet taste, and I mean any...whether S/F Jello, diet sodas, whatever.....will give the body the impression that sugar has been ingested....and elevate insulin levels, taking you right out of "Fat Burning Space!!"

What does this mean to the only slightly...or moderately IR person...probably nothing! SO don't worry about this!

Bonus......DON'T EAT BARS! ESPECIALLY L/C BARS......... EVER!

Hey I but caffeine-free diet coke. It's not bad. Only if you regularly drink normal coke, will it taste bad, but if you drink diet coke, it's really good. It comes in a bronze can.
