    when to take protien shake

hey i stopped lifting for around a year and want to get back into it. i was wondering when is the best time to drink a protien shake, before or after workouts?

also i am only 15, is it ok for me to take a protien supplement? i only have one or two servings a day.

Before and after.... but I would say after is more important...

and yes, whey is harmless for just about anyone (unless your are lactose intolerant, then it gives you gas, and can make you sick to your stomach)

Use supplements if you have reached your natural potential with dieting and lifting. Before that, supplements are a waste of money.

Most times, I will agree with the above...However, protein supplementation is one topic that has me switching my guns.

I would suggest to not replace real food intake with shakes and the likes, but to asdd it to an already appropriate diet will do no harm. Drink lots of water, eat like a mad man and supplement occasionaly with protein shakes, post workout and before bed.

    my 2 cents
