Its a different kind of tuna and its flaky unlike mush in the chunk tuna. I think chunk tuna is made from whatever is left after the steaks are cut, kinda like hotdogs! Solid White Albacore, is a lot better.

Solid white tuna in a can is albacore. The chunk light stuff is mystery tuna parts....the sausage/hot dog of the tuna world.

    Chuck light = .79 cents a can.
    Solid white = 1.59 a can.

You get what you pay for.

Sandwich, what are your specs? You look awesome!

I didn't know about different tuna parts (the tuna hotdogs), but I do notice that some brands are way dry and some aren't, guess I will have to check that out at the store. Some are so dry that you almost choke on the stuff eating it out of the can, even with lots of water (I eat out of the can alot along with other foods).

    Most eaten Tuna species:

    50% Skipjack
    32% yellowfin
    10% Bigeye
    6% Albacore
    2% Bluefin

And still everyone's eating Albacore .. we must really love the "white" ones
(actually, I've always looked at it as pretty pink, so ...)

113 kcal/100g, 27g protein and only 0.5g of fat ... I can live with the mercury bit ...

    @ sandwich

I was wondering ... was the "fullness" of your arms always there,
or did it come with "getting bigger arms" in general.

I ask this because everything about me gets bigger, also my biceps and triceps,
but I just don't get the "filled up arm"-look yet.

What period of time took you to get to that ?
(And I'm not talking about the whole bod, just the "full arms" thingie ...)

    Spanks!

well preacher....i got that right away......i grew so fast the first year i trained (18) that i have stretch marks from the arm pit to the forearm. i never noticed my bis growing in different places.
i trained heavy right from the start, and that seemed to induce growth all over. its genetics too i think.....they grew faster than anything else for me...so all i can say is stick with it and lift heavy/strict.

At one point I ate a can every day for 6 weeks and I started getting something like hot flashes and swollen ankles! As I found out, it was due to mercury, and a doctor told me to stay away from it for a looong while alltogether and supplement with selenium at 600 mcg for 2 weeks, than keeping it at 300 mcg for a while to get the mercury out of my system. I could feel my symptoms subside within a week. I never took it serious until then. i only had tuna once since then, and still have three cans in the house.

I have stretch marks from my "growth spurts" as well, I put on about 1/2" a month on my arms for awhile.

I think eating it a couple times a week is safe. I sometimes eat tuna 4 or 5 times in a week, but I try to avoid that by cooking up a bunch of chicken breast or whatever and eating that for the next few days.
