    I eat to live

I really hate to eat. If I didn't have to eat to stay alive, I wouldnt. Well, maybe thats a bit of an overstatement, but I really dislike eating. However, as someone who trains and moniters my nutrition, I make sure I get adequate calories everyday (whatever I need to bulk or cut). But it is hard to make myself eat so much. Its easy to skip a meal.

Anybody else with this dilema? How do you psych yourself into eating so much throughout the day?

I agree with you ! I always wished there were pills like the ones in the Jetsons that would take the place of actual eating . I thought i was the only one who thought like that .

I'm right there with you. I get no pleasure out of eating and would rather not have to do it...I rarely skip meals, I will just chug down some blended protein in water.

If it's JUNK FOOD, I love eating! Nachos, wings...that kind of stuff. When it comes to the other 99.9% of the time, eating is just something that I have to do. (gnawing on a protein bar as I type this)

WOW this is more common than i thought !

I always thiught of eating as a waste of time , besides the whole nutritional aspect . I do eat and eat well but that is out of neccesity not out of want .

I'm not too far from what you say, eating 5-6 times a day is WORK in itself! I feel more like this about sleep though, I love it, but I wish we didn't have too, and hence I have trouble with sleep.

I am a person who eats quickly for the most part, because I dont like spending all day cooking and eating, so I often:
    1) Am not picky about what I eat, I can eat the same thing for months for lunch or whatever
    2) Wont spend forever prepping the stuff
    3) Will eat stuff that others consider discusting for long periods without problems, I just get it OVER with

Anyhow though, I have a fairly average metabolism I suppose, but I have reached a point where I absolutely must intake more to keep growing, because I was at a dead point for a long time, WAY more protein than I was intaking, and a fair amount more calories did the job, so I had no choice

BTW, these reasons are why I have never much liked steak or chicken that was not in a friggin burrito or something, I like foods I can shove down the hole and finish pronto, like burgers, burritos etc I dont like getting messy eating my food, and I dont want to spend all day with a knife and fork.

Mudge..I hear where you are coming from. I can eat the same food items day in and day out. I ate 4 cans of tuna everyday for almost 4 years while in the military. as I wanted to make sure I got at least 1/2 of my protein intake from a quality source...

I don't quite hate eating the way some of you do.....but I do consider it a pain in the ass. I like to eat different things though, so I learned to cook (very well), but I like things on the spicy (read: Fuking HOT) side. If it aint beef, a pepper or a beer - I don't have much use for it. (That said, I eat healthy. Although I cheated last night and tonight. Pizza and lots O beer )

Sleep - If I could get around it I would. I hate wasting my time sleeping. I normally try to get at least 6 hours, but sometimes I'll do with 4. (and yes folks - I feel fine).

Pizza and beer SO rock, but I haven't bought beer in a long time, or any alc for that matter. I did however cheat with some 1/2 gallon of cookie dough ice cream the other day, oy...

It does get easier, I dont buy soda or beer/alc "anymore", its been a couple months since I've had any of the above. I did have ice cream this weekend though, but its rare

You really do get used to it, after awhile soda tastes like the sugar ick that it mostly is.

I have given up soooo much! I mean I have given up practically everything!! My hubby can't believe I am the same person. In fact he says I am NOT the same person. BUTT and there is a big BUTT (LOL - in more ways than one)...BUTT I have not given up my diet sodas... wah, wah, I love them so much. I probably am opening a can of worms in here regarding sodas, but so be it.

Do you think I can totally modify my diet and still keep my diet sodas? I have even stopped using the salt shaker and I buy stuff that is low sodium or sodium free....which if you knew me is a HUGE deal.

ok....you can all let me have it now
