Carb up while in Ketosis
What kinds of carbs? what are some good foods to eat while carbing up during a CKD? And how long should the carb up last?

Have you not read any articles on it?
carbs to go for (as recommended by dan duchaine and lyle mcDonald): First day (usually saturday): up to 800g carbs coming with about half-three quarters from liquid carbs like dextrose and malto. Second day about 400g carbs from real food. Focus on starchy carbs etc.. Limit sugary carbs cause they'll fill your liver glycogen up and you'll find it harder to get back into keto. Of course you can always indulge a bit in your favourite foods, just don;t go OTT. |

yep. The whole diet is based around the supercompensation of glycogen. Thus, you need to pack in the carbs.
Remember it's 3200, but a) high calorie days when dieting can help the metabolism rev up. b) it'll aid in converting inert T4 to active T3 (ie upregulate the thyroid) c) upregulate leptin (which will prolly negate the effects of the cals anyway) d) a lot of the cals will be lost in their own metabolism. e) the glycogen will go towards refilling near-empty glycogen stores and so prolly won;t go into fat stores. All in all, you prolly won;t put on much, if any fat at all providing your carbs are good sources and you don;t go overboard (which can be rather hard to gauge at first) |
