    For those who cycle carbs

Eating grains and starches one day and only fruits and veggies the next etc...

I've just started to do this as my cutting cycle is cuming to an end (another 2 months). Do you guys/gals count the carbs cals in the fibrous veggies or just eat like 2 cups vs trying to eat like 40 grams etc ?

I eat pretty much all the veggies I want on my low carb days, which should come to about 30g active carbs, that is the total carbs minus the fiber, which does not count. Then, on 2 days a week, every 3 or 4 day, I carb up at nite, where I just eat as many carbs as I like, mostly starchy ones like yams, oatmeal, pasta, brown rice, some fruit and maybe something I crave, as some ice cream or pie. Fruit contains a lot of carbs and has to be kept low on low carb days, which is why I stick w/veggies only then.

Not the way you do it...I follow a plan similar to what cytrix laid out...but I carb up on clean carbs

I'm a little confused by your first post (I'm tired ) ...if you're asking whether to count the carbs in veggies, I (and most) don't...though I think TP does.

When I did carb cycle I counted all carbs (starchy, fibrous, simple). I don't carb cycle anymore, though.

I don;t count carbs in veg (cauliflower and broccoli) or fibrous fruits i eat (apples [one a day] strawberries [a handful with about 2-3 meals a day])

I prolly get about 30-40 carbs from fruit and veg each day, but the thermogenic qualities of the foods prolly negate most of these cals anyway.

I count the carbs, but subtract the fiber content to get the "real" carbs.

    15g carbs - 6g fiber = 9g carbs counted.

When i've done it in the past i only cycled starchy carbs Example: Day 1 100 grams starchy carbs Day 2: 50g starchy carbs Day 3: 0-25g starchy carbs. This is just an example theres other ways to do it. I left the green veggies the same , but i didnt add any extra on days where i wouldnt eat starches. This worked well for me at the time. I've been trying new things lately , but i'll probably go back to doing this in about 5 weeks.

I have low carb days and days with a carb up meal, but I don't cycle carbs by separating grains and starches from fruits and vegetables. On low carb days, I'm pretty much limited to green veggies and, occasionally a few strawberries, and I do count these carbs (minus the fiber). On days with carb up meals, I have pretty much all my carbs in a single meal, consisting of 1 banana, 1 sweet potato, 1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup green veggies & 2 TBS peanut butter.
There's one way to find out....
